CHICAGO, IL: Why you must add the vibrant Pilsen and Logan Square neighborhoods to your itinerary!

Greetings from Chicago mural, Logan Square

Logan Square & Pilsen are two neighborhoods in Chicago that I didn’t plan on visiting prior to arriving. After some brief research I learned that the neighborhoods existed and went on my own mural walk/exploration in the areas. My trip wouldn’t have been the same without experiencing the beauty of these places. Here are my favorite murals and things about these two locations in hopes that you will consider visiting these neighborhoods for yourself! This is not really a blog to tell you exactly how to find everything but more of an introduction to the neighborhoods in hopes that you will explore them by foot on your own to see what you can find along the way!

The Greetings from Chicago mural is a great starting point in the mural search. From there, you will spot murals in every direction that you look!

Pilsen

Just a 15 minute drive South of Logan Square you will find Pilsen. A historical & vibrant community filled with Mexican/Mexican American culture! It will be difficult to find a wall without a mural on it!

There is an awesome art museum in Pilsen that you must visit while there! This is actually where I started. I parked here, visited the museum then started looking for murals!

Chicago has so many cool neighborhoods! I hope this encourages you to step away from the tourist attractions and into real communities to get a feel for all Chicago has to offer!

Happy Exploring!
